How We Work
The Partnership acknowledges that the success of the City of College Park and the University of Maryland are interconnected. It collaborates actively to facilitate cooperative efforts that achieve common community goals. The Partnership promotes initiatives and policies aimed at making College Park a more vibrant, equitable, and sustainable community for everyone.
To foster a growing, thriving, equitable, and sustainable environment in College Park and its surrounding communities, we bring together various stakeholders dedicated to strengthening community connections, culture, and a shared sense of belonging. Our collaboration involves cross-sector partners working toward the shared goals outlined in the University-Community Vision 2030. The Partnership’s activities are organized into four main strategy areas: Pre-K – 12 Education, Public Health and Safety, Housing and Development, and Transportation and Mobility. All of these areas are guided by the core principles of equity and sustainability. Within these committees, we establish working groups consisting of representatives from the County, the University, and local municipalities to discuss and implement policies and initiatives effectively.
Committees
The Partnership’s Board of Directors is responsible for all business and affairs of the City-University Partnership, including the College Park Community Preservation Trust and the Live+Work College Park Program. The Partnership’s Board of Directors approves all Strategy Area Committee members, including the College Park Community Preservation Trust Advisory Committee. The Board of Directors can select and approve members for each committee and approve their work plans each year.
