Trust Makes First Time Homebuyer’s Dream a Reality
Trust Makes First Time Homebuyer’s Distant Dream a Reality
Like many, born-and-raised Marylander Kyle L., originally moved to the College Park area to study at the University of Maryland. After undergrad, he worked in the area for a few years and eventually returned to UMD for graduate school. Kyle was offered post-grad positions both in and out-of-state, but his affinity for College Park’s diversity and amenities made him want to stay in the area post-grad.
As a graduate student, Kyle’s longtime dream of owning a home seemed like a distant reality. After graduating, he rented in the area, saved what he could for a down payment, and casually searched for homes. He set up email alerts for homes for sale in College Park, one of which notified him of a house in the Hollywood area in the Trust’s portfolio. After doing a bit of research on the Trust, he joined an information session. He learned with the Trust’s program, homeownership in College Park was an option for him years earlier than he anticipated. To prospective applicants, Kyle suggests seeking advice from Trust brokers and staff directly on program guidelines.
