The Partnership Thanks David Iannucci for his Service
The Partnership honors long-time board member David Iannucci, president and CEO of Prince George’s County Economic Development Corp., as he concludes a 40-year career in economic development and public service and steps down for his role as a member of the Partnership’s Board of Directors. The Partnership thanks him for his leadership on our board and congratulates him on his retirement.
Though born in California, David Iannucci committed his career to Maryland’s economic development, and has left a lasting impact that will benefit Marylanders for decades to come.
Iannucci attended University of Maryland College Park, and University of Maryland School of Law. Over the course of his career, he served in several public service positions at the State level, most notably as Secretary of Commerce during the Glendening administration.
As president of the PGEDC, Mr. Iannucci led the organization in their mission to promote a strong local economy and to support economic growth through business development and job creation. Under his leadership, Prince George’s County experienced unprecedented economic growth and transformation, including a 10-year span leading all Maryland Counties in job growth. David consistently presented Prince George’s County innovative labor market to both public and private assets, such as NOAA, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Joint Base Andrews (home of Air Force One), and the Washington Commanders.
During his tenure, Iannucci led the implementation of the $50 million Economic Development Incentive Fund into a powerful engine for growth, leveraging over $1.1 billion in private sector investments. His efforts are seen by thousands of Prince George’s County residents who work in the businesses that blossomed with this County support.
More recently, Iannucci’s decade-long persistence and dedication secured a highly competitive bid for the relocation of FBI headquarters to Greenbelt, Maryland. The deal is projected to add 7,500 jobs to the State of Maryland.
While David’s official tenure came to a close in December of 2024, he plans to continue to promote Prince George’s County though other opportunities. We thank Mr. Iannucci for his dedication to the Partnership, Prince George’s County, and Marylanders, and congratulate him on his retirement.
