Maryland Mortgage Program: The Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) offers a $6,000 zero-interest loan that only needs to be repaid when you sell or transfer the property, refinance your first mortgage, or pay it off in full. In addition, the program provides a Maryland HomeCredit, allowing you to receive a federal tax credit of up to $2,000 annually for the life of your mortgage. The MMP is available to first-time homebuyers or those who haven’t owned a home in the last three years as long as they meet specific income requirements. City of College Park New Neighbors Grant: The City of College Park offers a $5,000 incentive for individuals who are either current residents, work full-time for an employer within the City, or are full-time graduate students at the University of Maryland. This $5,000 incentive is also available for the purchase of any house in College Park by City employees, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs employed within the State of Maryland or Prince George’s County. Additionally, grants of up to $10,000 are available for purchasing a property that has either been rented for at least two years prior to purchase, has been owner-occupied and rented to more than two people, is newly constructed, or is located in a neighborhood where at least 50% of the single-family homes are renter-occupied, as determined by the City.

The Discovery District

The Discovery District, an innovative public-private research park, is the epicenter of academic, research, and economic achievement in Greater College Park. Through the Partnership’s Live+Work College Park Program, Discovery District employees are eligible for $20,000 in down payment assistance toward a home in College Park, Maryland.
