After a spring and summer of unexpected (and undesired) challenges, it feels good to be falling back into the familiar—yet refreshing—traditions that come with the change in seasons this time of year. While trick-or-treating may only exist as a memory for now, small businesses like Vigilante Coffee are doing what they can to create the festive atmosphere that many of us usually look forward to in the fall.
Along with many other small businesses, Vigilante closed its doors at the beginning of the pandemic, and for a few months, it was only taking online orders. However, The specialty coffee shop has since broken out its brewing machines and blenders, so customers can enjoy all of their Vigilante favorites again. In the spirit of fall, the menu also features seasonal additions such as an apple and pecan salad, hot apple cider, a maple spice latte, and a special new açaí bowl.
Although the shop is only open for pickup orders at the moment, this hasn’t stopped the Vigilante team from going all out with their “spooky season” decor as well. As customers approach the counter (currently occupying the shop’s doorway), they are greeted by a community of Halloween-themed decorations, including a plastic jack-o-lantern, a couple of spooky signs, some skulls, and a skeleton set up around the adjacent window. Patrons who choose to stay and enjoy their treats in on the deck might also get a laugh out of the giant decorative spider web on the corner of the store, and they’ll surely admire the vibrant golden leaves swirling around at their feet.
Even though Vigilante Coffee has yet to fully reopen for dining in, its efforts to keep customers safe and provide a cozy fall atmosphere show that the coffee shop is still offering the best for its customers. If you’d like to view the menu and/or make a purchase online, visit their website.
