As one of College Park’s newest restaurants, The Hall CP has already become a favorite spot for families and college students in the area. Fortunately for community members, the restaurant began welcoming customers back to its dining room and outdoor patio for dinner and weekend brunch earlier this summer.
As the risk of COVID-19 persists, The Hall CP’s management has been enforcing several safety procedures to keep customers and staff members healthy. First, managers check and record the body temperature and potential symptoms of each employee at the beginning of their shift to ensure that they are feeling their best. Throughout their shifts, these employees wear gloves and masks, and they regularly sanitize surfaces and doorknobs in the restaurant to maintain cleanliness. Customers must also wear masks upon entry and whenever they are not seated at their tables for the safety of one another and the employees. Of course, the restaurant also serves at only 50% capacity, and guests are encouraged to keep physical distance from others outside of their own parties.
Despite all of these precautions, The Hall CP is committed to offering an enjoyable experience for guests. Manager Ty says she hopes for this space to become a “third place environment” for customers, where they’ll seek to spend the time they’re not at home or school/work—beyond just eating meals. Guests are welcome to draw with chalk on the blacktop patio, play board games, and bring their dogs (who can receive their own treats!). In the past, employees have also flipped one of the flat screens to specific games and movies, or adjusted the central music upon request from customers, in order to make the guests feel at home.
In addition to its warm and friendly atmosphere, The Hall CP’s menu itself is quite commendable. Most items are made fresh in-house, including the burgers, mozzarella, marinara sauce, donuts, and specialty drinks. Customers also rave about the coal-fired pizza, another one of the restaurant’s specialties. To see a full menu, visit The Hall CP’s website.
This restaurant may be open at limited hours and capacity right now, but its team has big plans for when it can fully reopen. Eventually, The Hall CP hopes to reintroduce its cafe and daily breakfast menu, return to the Longhouse Lounge for themed movie nights, and begin hosting live music concerts. (To make inquiries about booking the event space, email email@example.com.) Until then, customers are welcome to come spend their afternoons here and enjoy everything that the restaurant currently has to offer.
