Bagel Place of College Park is a local establishment that has been serving quality bagels, coffee, and breakfast all day long since 1983. A family-run business, Bagel Place is a landmark among College Park residents, University of Maryland students and faculty, visitors, and many residents in the Route 1 corridor.
Owner Bobby Karanovich remarks that most of the business’ customers are regulars who live within a few minutes from the restaurant, and stop in on a daily or weekly for their favorite order. Karanovich says that what keeps people coming back to the restaurant, year after year, are the consistent quality standards, reasonable prices, and friendly service.
Another advantage of Bagel Place is its prime location. Situated on the intersection of Baltimore and College Avenue, it is easily walkable or bikeable from Old Town and Calvert Hills neighborhoods as well as the southern entrance of the University of Maryland campus. Being on Baltimore Avenue makes it convenient for local residents, students, and visitors to the community alike. Metered parking spaces in front of the restaurant are ideal for commuters on the go.
The downtown area of College Park has seen many changes recently – with new businesses coming in, as well as pedestrian improvements, a new bike share and more. Karanovich is excited to see the changes, “Redevelopment is always great,” and the Bagel Place will continue to call College Park home as long as they “make sure to keep going with the same good food that people come back for,” said Karanovich. This is an exciting time to be in College Park – and Bagel Place, one of the City’s long-time establishments, remains on the list of local favorites.
