Mediterranean food is popular in College Park, with many Mediterranean locations such as  Taim Mediterranean Kitchen and Marathon Deli. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Mediterranean diet, which consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and olive oil is one of the healthiest diets. A Mediterranean diet includes a limited intake of refined bread, processed foods, and red meat,  all scientifically determined to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Box’d Kitchen’s take on Mediterranean flavors suits the American palette. Choose a base of flatbread gyro wrap, a rice bowl with basmati rice, or a salad bowl with arugula, kale, spinach, romaine, or iceberg lettuce. Select a protein of chicken, beef, pork, or tofu; and off with green peppers, chickpeas, onions, jalapenos, and one of Box’d Kitchen’s fiery sauces.
