LaTao offers an evening full of entertainment, with all-you-can-eat Hot Pot and Sushi and Karaoke. Visit their College Park location at 8700 Baltimore Ave under The Nine College Park.
Hot Pot, literally translated as ‘fire pot’ – huǒguō (火锅) – from Chinese, is well described by its name. The ancient, widely popular, meal is effectively a large pot filled with a simmering broth that is placed over an open flame. The savory broth is accompanied by plates of various meats, vegetables, noodles, condiments, and dipping sauces. The fresh ingredients are placed in the broth, cooked, and then taken out and dipped into sauce before eating.
At LaTao, this traditional meal is served with a modern twist. Once guests select their desired ingredients, a robot ‘helper’ assists a server to the table. A plethora of sauces are provided via a self-serve ‘sauce bar’. The indecisive among us can add, all-you-can-eat sushi for just $5.
After filling up on a savory meal, guests can sing their hearts out at LaTao’s Karaoke Bar. Reservations are available in one-hour increments for up to three hours. Their Karaoke booths come in several sizes, accommodating large and small parties. Small rooms may be reserved at $45 per hour, medium at $60 per hour, and large at $75 per hour. You can reserve a room by phone at (301) 441-1111. LaTao is open every day from 12:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
