A day at the farmers market is a perfect way to spend a spring day with family and friends. College Park is home to more than one market with a handful of vendors offering fresh produce, fresh meals, baked goods, coffee, handcrafted goods and more. Strolling through a farmers market is a great way to meet your college park neighbors and appreciate local business owners.

 

The Farmers Market at Maryland has recently opened for the season. Every Wednesday, 11-3 p.m, you can visit University of Maryland’s campus to see a large crowd of students, faculty and locals in Tawes Plaza checking out what the vendors have to offer. Visitors come for the fresh produce, fresh bread and pastries, handcrafted jewelry, wine, fudge, coffee, and more. This farmers market is open for the Spring season and will reopen in the Fall.

The College Park Farmers Market, located at 5211 Campus Drive, will open April 30th, and will remain open on Saturdays through the Summer and Fall season. Running for over 40 years, this local farmers market has several returning vendors and new vendors that will be joining the scene. Visitors can enjoy local produce, baked goods, and handcrafted items as well as hot, ready to eat food. Make sure to mark April 30th on your calendar and join the College Park community from 8-1 p.m.

Hollywood Farmers Market will open May 7 and run from 9-1 pm. Located in the Hollywood Plaza Shopping Center, this farmers market also hosts a large crowd every Saturday during the Summer and Fall months. With a plethora of local vendors, everyone will find something to enjoy. Because of the convenient location, visitors of the shopping center can spontaneously stop by and see what the market has to offer.
