The College Park City-University Partnership, working in collaboration with the College Park Arts Exchange, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, the University of Maryland’s School of Music, and the City of College Park, is developing a weekly outdoor performance series that supports the vision of a sustainable, walkable, vibrant top-20 college town.
CALL FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS
The Partnership is seeking volunteer artists to participate in weekly outdoor performances by local musicians and arts performers between September 8, 2017 and November 3, 2017. Our goal is to enhance public spaces in College Park with art and music, bring the community together, articulate the area’s history, and give cultural context to new development.
Who: Musicians and visual performing artists
Disciplines: Music, visual performing art and dance, temporary pop-up displays, games, art activities
Note: The Partnership, at this time, will not be able to supply stands, chairs, tables or a tent. Amplification cannot exceed 65 decibels during the day and 55 decibels at night (after 6:00 p.m.). This is a volunteer artists call; artists may collect donations.
LOCATIONS AND SCHEDULE
Northgate Park, 8120-8122 Baltimore Avenue – Mondays, starting September 11, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Little Tavern Park, 7413 Baltimore Avenue – Fridays, starting September 8, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
